Some will pay better, some may be closer to home, but we have something special to offer... we have a vacancy for a Live in Sous Chef in the heart of The Lake District, Buttermere.

Do you have a passion for creating good food and you don't mind a bit of graft? If you are a Chef with Sous experience or would like to take the next step we would love to talk to you about working at our Hotel.

We are based in beautiful Buttermere, in the heart of the Lake District (it is near Keswick and Cockermouth) and it is a rural location. We are not going to lie we have a very busy public bar and restaurant (check us out on Facebook and Instagram) and we do work hard, the hours are unsociable (breakfast, nights, weekends and bank holidays) and we have the occasional challenges (it's hospitality) - but the benefits do out way the negatives (great team who like good craic, use of fresh local produce in dishes, picturesque location).

We are looking for someone who has a genuine passion for food, likes to cook, has a good temperament, is willing to learn and is willing to work. We are a small team and we all work hard - even the Head Chef - and what we do we do well! We provide on the job training, and are always looking to advance and enhance all staff capabilities. Hours are flexible and there may be some early shifts, but we can guarantee that the time will fly!
