We are looking for a Qualified Accountant who wants to proactively help business owners achieve a more financially secure future. This role requires face to face interaction with clients on a regular basis and is based in Colchester, Essex.

  • Salary: Starting salary of £40,000 per annum, up to £52,500 per annum. The salary is dependent on both the level of qualification and the years of experience

About the role:

You will be regularly meeting our clients face-to-face, offering advice, training, and troubleshooting. This is predominately an office-based role working in our Colchester office, with some flexibility for remote work. This Qualified Accountant role is a relationship role doing all we can to help and support our business clients. You will be working Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.

Other Key Duties include:

  • Bookkeeping & Software Management: Prepare and review bookkeeping using cloud-based software like QuickBooks Online and Xero. Process transactions, utilise bank feeds, capture data with Hubdoc and Dext, and manage bank reconciliations.
  • VAT Returns & Reporting: Prepare and submit VAT returns and provide regular performance reports to clients.
  • Client Support & Training: Train clients and their bookkeepers on Xero and QuickBooks, troubleshoot software issues, and support clients with record-keeping and business operations.
  • Accounts Preparation: Check in clients' records to ensure they are ready for accounts preparation.
  • App Integration: Test and review apps for integration with cloud accounting software.

About You:

As our Qualified Accountant you will need 5 years (minimum) of practise experience, this is essential. You will hold an AAT or Chartered Accountant qualification. Be proficient in QuickBooks Online, Xero, Excel, and Word. Experience with CIS and Payroll is advantageous. You will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, problem-solving initiative, and a commitment to providing first-class client service. Must be a proven team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
