Assistant Management Accountant

Reed is proud to be working with a fantastic client of ours, who are looking to hire an Assistant Management Accountant on a 3 month Fixed Term Contract. They are looking for a candidate who is passionate about supporting an exciting business and to tackle the challenges of improving balance sheet ratios and ensuring cash flow for our ongoing expansion.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Maintain an 8-week rolling cash flow forecast.
  • Perform daily reconciliation of cash book and bank accounts.
  • Implement checks and controls over all outgoing payments.
  • Manage purchase ledger, validate invoices, reconcile supplier statements, and schedule payments.
  • Oversee the raising and issuing of sales invoices.
  • Manage company-wide credit card expenditure.
  • Prepare month-end journals, including prepayments, accruals, and depreciation.
  • Submit information to statutory authorities, including HMRC.
  • Reconcile all balance sheet lines monthly.
  • Run payroll for 60+ persons.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts to meet Group deadlines.
  • Report on Actual vs Budget variances and prepare monthly cash flow statements.
  • Assist with the coordination of annual year-end accounts preparation.
  • Review and enhance company internal controls.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • AAT Level 3 or above qualification.
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Competency in accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Strong personal integrity with the ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
  • Hardworking with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and drive changes.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of accounting regulations and financial issues.
  • Sound decision-making skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience with Access Dimension is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with payroll software is a plus.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
