MacKenzie King are excited to be recruiting a Management Accountant to join a well-established and heavily respected organisation, based in Colchester. As a Management Accountant you will be responsible for the production of monthly management accounts and business partnering with managers across the organisation.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts
  • Work with budget holders to produce meaningful narrative and understand opportunities and risks within the organisation
  • Oversee and sign off payment runs and ensure accuracy and timeliness of payments
  • Prepare a monthly cash flow
  • Prepare month-end journals and Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Support with reporting and analysis for grant applications
  • Provide support, advice and guidance to the wider staff team to ensure effective and confident engagement with financial policies, processes, and internal control systems
  • Participate in the preparation of the organisation’s annual financial statements
  • Assist the auditors with audit queries
  • Other duties / ad-hoc support where required

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Accounting qualification (AAT Qualified or CIMA/ACCA part-qualified)
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Lookups, etc.
  • Experience using accounting software. Working knowledge of Xero is desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, think creatively, and learn quickly
  • Ability to work independently under own initiative and cooperatively as part of a team
