Job Title: Senior Accountant (6-month FTC)Location: Colchester, EssexDepartment: Finance Reports To: Financial ControllerJob Summary:My client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented senior accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This role involves overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions.Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Conduct financial analysis and generate reports to support management decisions.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Strong knowledge of R2R would be preferred
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Microsoft Excel.
