MacKenzie King are recruiting an Assistant Accountant to join an impressive business in the Colchester area. As an Assistant Accountant, you will use the previous experience within a varied accounting role, to play an integral part within the finance team.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Produce weekly/monthly payment runs, resolve queries, and maintain internal accounting spreadsheets.
  • Control petty cash, post vouchers to the General Ledger and reconcile at month end.
  • Daily bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with the budget and forecasting processes.
  • Support the Management Accountant where necessary.
  • Assist in month end duties.
  • Participate in ad hoc activities and reporting.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of both purchase ledger and sales ledger
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise projects to meet tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Good communication & interpersonal skills           
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to complete tasks while maintaining all confidentiality requirements
  • AAT/CIMA/ACCA studier
