We are seeking a Sales Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in obtaining new clients and sales, providing sales quotations, and supervising a small sales team. The Sales Supervisor will work closely with the Operations and Business Development teams to drive new client conversions and maintain high service levels.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide sales quotations to prospective new clients and respond to web enquiries.
  • Utilise in-house freight software to form quotations and generate sales reports.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Operations team on new client bookings.
  • Achieve KPIs set by the Business Development team for the number of new conversions.
  • Review monthly profit/loss reports to ensure alignment with expected budgets.
  • Maintain accurate data records of prospective new clients.
  • Plan and organise sales activities in line with our Business Development Plan.
  • Research prospective customers and identify new leads.
  • Contact previous clients for future sales using in-house freight software data.
  • Work with the Commercial Director on marketing activities to gain new leads.
  • Attend local networking events and networking webinars.
  • Support new business opportunities with our international agency network.
  • Explore future international travel opportunities to network with agency partners.
  • Negotiate with major shipping lines, partners/suppliers to find cost savings while maintaining service levels.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Sales, ideally with a good educational background.
  • Thorough knowledge of sales and marketing techniques; knowledge of freight forwarding is desirable.
  • Experience utilising social media to support market activity and corporate image.
  • Experience in all marketing functions including lead generation, PR & social media.
  • Experience working with CRM systems to develop and manage leads.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and lead a team.
  • Excellent IT skills and the ability to plan and prioritise workload.
  • Full driving license, and ability to visit prospective new clients and attend events off-site.
