Business Development Executive

Our Client manufacture quality, reliable commercial plant, general duty, coil pipe, rolling chassis and cable drum trailers. Designed and manufactured in Britain, their market-leading, heavy-duty towing equipment supports the gas, water, electric and telecommunications industries.
This role will involve hunting for new business and warming up leads to support the growth of trailer sales by seeking out fresh opportunities and targeting potential customers and prospects. The successful applicant will be arranging product demos and meetings when they are warmed up sufficiently to be taken through to quote stage for the Business Development Manager to take them on. Building rapport with key prospective customers by regular phone contact, email and other means of communication such as video meeting, to ensure that the quote pipeline is kept full of qualified quote opportunities. Contacting prospective customers to identify potential and bring them on board and sending out relevant brochures and literature, following up until they are ready for a quote. Establishing when customers will be in the market for trailers, the size of their fleet and what their spent potential is. Arranging face-to-face visits including demos and trials.
Duties (include but are not limited to)
- B2B new business sales
- Working toward set KPIs and taking full ownership of these
- Updating data on CRM, ensuring a high level of accuracy, including notes of each call, and a follow up task forward dated for follow up.
- Arranging demonstrations of trailers and making sure enough booked in a day to ensure it is viable
- Work closely with other team members as needed
- Research and target companies that aren’t currently buying the trailer range, and book in calls or meetings
- Ensure that the Opportunity Pipeline is kept accurate and updated on a weekly basis, and there is enough in it to achieve sales targets
- Follow up prospects tenaciously to the point of a qualified quotable opportunity
- Work closely with Operations to ensure there is a clear handover from order to operations
- Ensure that preparation work is completed for any meeting booked
- Arrange demonstrations and / or trials on trailer products
- Attend and present at monthly sales meeting.
- Attending daily huddle prepared with numbers and highlights from previous day, and goal for the day ahead.
- Submitting weekly Sales Report
- Any other reasonable duties as requested by the Company.
Person Specification
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar phone based business development / account management position essential
- Committed team player
