CNC Miller - Colchester - up to 36,000

We are seeking a skilled CNC Miller proficient in programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines equipped with Hurco and Heidenhain controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in precision machining within the automotive sector, capable of interpreting engineering drawings and producing components that meet stringent quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, edit, and optimise CNC programs using Hurco and Heidenhain controls to manufacture precision components as per engineering specifications.
  • Prepare CNC milling machines by setting up tooling, fixtures, and workpieces, ensuring accurate alignment and calibration for optimal performance.
  • Oversee the machining process, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to specified tolerances.
  • Perform first-off and in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify component accuracy.
  • Identify and resolve machining issues, including tool wear, machine errors, and programming discrepancies.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on CNC milling machines to ensure optimal functionality and minimise downtime.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Programming Skills: Strong knowledge of Hurco or Heidenhain programming languages, with the capability to create and modify programs.
  • Keen understanding of machining principles and the ability to maintain tight tolerance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
