The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced CNC Miller to program, set, and operate CNC milling machines using Hurco and Heidenhain controls. The successful candidate will have a strong background in precision machining, particularly within the automotive sector, and be able to manufacture components that meet stringent quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program, set, and operate CNC milling machines using Hurco and Heidenhain controls
  • Develop, edit, and optimise CNC programs to ensure efficient machining processes
  • Prepare machines by setting up tooling, fixtures, and work pieces for precision manufacturing
  • Monitor machining operations, ensuring adherence to strict tolerances and high-quality output
  • Conduct first-off and in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, including tool wear, programming discrepancies, and machine errors
  • Perform routine maintenance to ensure machine efficiency and minimise downtime.

Requirements:

  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of Hurco or Heidenhain programming languages with the ability to create and modify programs
  • Keen understanding of machining principles with experience in tight tolerance requirements
  • Experience troubleshooting machining issues efficiently
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a production environment

Working hours

Monday to Thursday 7:30am till 4:30pm

Friday 7:30am till 12:30pm
