Here at Whitehall, we are currently hiring for a Credit Control Manager on a Full-Time basis to join our Finance team, reporting to the Finance Manager. As a Credit Control Manager, you will play an essential role in ensuring streamlined debt recovery and process efficiencies across your team. It is essential for this role that you have a minimum of 4 years credit controller leadership experience backed up with accreditation in either CICM L3 or AAT L4 and above or both.

Credit Control Manager

Proven ability in successfully managing a team through change, with examples of continuous process improvements implemented to wider teams with a confident and hands on approach displaying a can-do attitude and not afraid to get stuck in.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:Manage, supervise and support a small team, setting weekly targets and objectives to drive success.
  • Process Improvement:Collaborate with acquired businesses to standardise and streamline processes constantly questioning the status quo.
  • Procedure Development:Implement new procedures to improve daily workflows and alleviate pressure points.
  • Resource Maximisation:Optimise staff resources and identify training needs.
  • Reporting:Prepare and present reports to stakeholders.
  • Collection Policies:Develop and implement consistent and effective collection strategies to maximise cash collections and reduce overall debt.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience:Prior experience in a managerial role within credit control, with solid knowledge of standard accountancy and finance practices.
  • Qualifications:A recognised accounting qualification (e.g., AAT Level 4, CICM L3) with strong analytical skills and proficiency in accounting software, Sage products an advantage
  • Leadership Skills:Proven ability to manage people effectively, with in-depth knowledge of budgeting, financial forecasting, and strong reporting skills.
  • Technical Proficiency:Strong understanding of business principles and a solid grasp of Microsoft applications.

Ongoing and required tasks:

  • Calculate and manage Credit Risk across Global multi-currency businesses, currently UK, Europe and USA
  • Credit control related tasks to include, but not limited to; chasing, calling, liaising with clients and internal staff.
  • Produce monthly debtor, sales, rebate and cashflow reports for Finance Manager and Finance Director.
  • Weekly and monthly updates to Finance Manger or Finance Director to include a debtors update, bad debt provisions and any foreseeable issues in the future
  • Accountable for the reduction of debt provision without increasing write off/credit notes
  • Cashflow Management of contracted payables vs incoming forecast for multi-currency contracts, highlighting probable negative cashflow across group and currencies and offering solutions
  • Global credit management reporting of targets calculating DSO, ratios, credit risk and percentage delinquencies
  • Provide Credit checks/reports for new clients when required.
  • Set and adopt Credit Control parameters to keep overall debt as low as possible Such as (0-30 days, 31-60, 61-90, 90+)
  • Global Credit and Collection processes reducing debtor days and streamlining processes across entities
  • Conducting team appraisals, setting goals and objectives and identifying gaps for improvement
  • Manage and motivate team to planned deliverables with explanation of variances and new deliverable action plans.
  • Ad hoc task presented as and when by either Finance Manager or Finance Director.
