A well-established law firm is seeking an HR professional to join its team on a fixed-term maternity cover basis. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to gain broader exposure within HR, offering greater scope and responsibility while working closely with the HR Manager.About the Role This is a fast-paced and varied role, ideal for an experienced HR Administrator/Assistant eager to progress in a professional services environment. You will play a key part in delivering effective HR support across recruitment, employee lifecycle processes, compliance, payroll, and engagement initiatives.Key Responsibilities?? HR Administration – Drafting contracts and employment documents, maintaining HR records, and managing HR inbox queries.?? Recruitment Support – Coordinating recruitment processes, liaising with agencies, and supporting graduate recruitment schemes.?? Employee Lifecycle Management – Handling onboarding, performance reviews, promotions, training requests, and offboarding processes.?? Employee Relations – Acting as a first point of contact for HR queries, supporting engagement initiatives, and assisting with employee relations cases.?? Payroll & Benefits Administration – Providing payroll data, managing benefits, and handling employee queries.?? Compliance & Policy Support – Ensuring HR policies align with legal and industry best practices, supporting compliance audits.About You
  • CIPD Level 3 qualification (or working towards it).
  • Previous experience in an HR Assistant or Administrator role within a legal or professional services firm is preferred.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to handle sensitive matters professionally.
  • High attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • A positive, flexible, and self-motivated attitude.
