Role Overview:
As a Health Care Assistant, you will work closely with adults with learning disabilities, supporting them in their day-to-day lives and helping them achieve their personal goals. You will play an essential role in promoting independence, well-being, and dignity for each individual. This is a rewarding role that requires empathy, patience, and a strong desire to make a positive impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and mobility support.
- Promote independence and encourage participation in social, educational, and recreational activities.
- Support individuals with personal care needs, including washing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record health and well-being, reporting any concerns to senior staff.
- Assist in the administration of medications (if trained to do so).
- Build positive, trusting relationships with individuals, families, and other team members.
- Help implement individual care plans and support plans.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for all service users.
