Our client is a dynamic, forward thinking company based in Colchester, with technology at the heart of what they do. They are now looking to bring in a Digital Marketing Executive to play a critical role in defining the company’s marketing direction and achieving their ambitious goals.

This is a unique and enriching opportunity, with a robust earning potential and the chance to steer the client towards groundbreaking innovation. The role will involve managing and optimising the marketing technology stack, driving efficiency, and delivering high-impact marketing campaigns through data-driven decisions.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced digital marketing professional and should have a strong understanding of marketing automation, customer relationship management (CRM) and analytics tools, as well as a desire to stay up-to-date with emerging trends in marketing technology.

Duties (include but are not limited to)

Digital Marketing Strategy

  • Working with the COO, design and develop an integrated marketing strategy to achieve revenue targets. Regularly review and optimise all relevant digital marketing channels to improve performance and drive ROI.

Automations & CRM

  • Develop and maintain marketing automation workflows and segmentation strategies to improve campaign performance and customer engagement.
  • Build a yearly CRM strategy to increase retention and improve KPIs.
  • Oversee all automation and email flows and make changes as necessary to maximise revenue opportunities.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance across all marketing technology systems.

Website Development and Content Management

  • Maintain and update the brand’s website with fresh and engaging content, including homepage updates, product pages and landing pages.
  • Work with the leadership team and web developers to enhance website user experience (UX) and improve online user journeys.
  • Implement relevant new integrations of tech stack and website tools.

SEO and Content Optimisation

  • Implement SEO best practices to increase the visibility of digital content and drive organic traffic to the brand’s website and social media channels.
  • Optimise content for search engines by incorporating relevant keywords, meta descriptions, and alt tags.
  • Ensure that all digital content is optimised for desktop and mobile devices, providing a seamless user experience.

Tech Innovation and AI

  • Advocate for your channels, stay on top of industry trends, and continually share with the team and broader business where appropriate.
  • Experiment with new content formats, tools, and technologies to enhance engagement and drive innovation in digital marketing efforts.
  • Identify and evaluate new marketing technologies and AI tools to streamline workflows and processes, enhance the digital guest experience, and improve ROI.
  • Lead new tech stack rollouts and train teams across the business on new marketing tools.

Person Specification

  • At least 5 years experience working in a similar role across various industries (ideally as a Digital Marketing Manager / Executive or similar)
  • Hands-on experience with marketing automation & CRM systems.
  • Expert on email marketing best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for creating and optimising landing pages and email templates.
  • Knowledge of SEO and digital advertising best practices.
  • Familiarity with marketing attribution models and cross-channel marketing strategies.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
