My client who are a leading manufacturer within their field are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join their team.

The main purpose of this position will be to support the business through a period of quality system change including the introduction of APQP and PPAP methodologies. It will also involve managing an existing quality team, and supporting them through a period of growth.

Quality Manager Requirements:

  • Experience implementing APQP/PPAP processes into a manufacturing environment
  • Six Sigma qualified (Black Belt preferred)
  • Experience working within a diverse manufacturing environment (ideally nuclear or aerospace)
  • Strong knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100
  • Experience managing a multidisciplined team, identifying the strengths within the team and managing them accordingly
  • Planning & Organising - Effectively organises all resources and time to deliver overall objectives
  • Decision making & Problem Solving - Demonstrates a readiness to make decisions, take required action, and owns that outcome whilst confidently using personal expertise to promote any ideas.
  • Experience dealing with customers, providing guidance and advise on product selection

Quality Manager Duties:

  • Support and assist with the implementation of new product implementation methodologies (PPAP and APQP)
  • Lead and conduct root cause analysis on non-conforming products using methodologies like 8D and 5Why's (RCA) and implementing preventative and corrective actions
  • Develop, implement, and oversee quality management processes and procedures (CI)
  • Review quality aspects of customer specifications and contracts
  • Supervise and provide guidance to inspectors, technicians, and other quality-related staff
  • Investigate customer product complaints and quarantined items
  • Coordinate Quality meetings and training matrixes
  • Data Analysis and Reporting (Good IT skills, especially Excel, Ability to create Reports and PowerPoint presentations)
  • Leadership of an inspection team
  • Prioritising inspection tasks to support production requirements
  • Perform internal quality audits in line with audit plans
  • Document Control
  • Customer Management
