Adecco are pleased to be recruiting for a Digital Communications & Engagement Assistant to join the North Wales Police force at their Colwyn Bay HQ.
This is a temporary until at least June 2025. This post is working full time, 37 hours and is office based. The rate is 14.40 per hour.
PLEASE NOTE DUE TO THE POLICE VETTING CRITERIA YOU MUST HAVE RESIDED WITHIN THE UK CONTINUOUSLY FOR AT LEAST 3 YEARS AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION.
Role Purpose
To assist with the production of engaging digital content, to include photos and film, for internal and external audiences.
To assist in the provision of effective two way communications between the force and external audiences by supporting the maintenance and the development of digital and social media.
Primary Accountabilities:
- To increase public engagement between North Wales Police (NWP) and its communities by producing engaging content including copy, pictures and videos across all NWP digital channels.
- To update, improve and publicise the Force website on a regular basis, create engaging content in line with accessibility requirements.
- To regularly liaise with officers and staff to provide guidance and support in respect of effective community engagement.
- To assist in the implementation of district engagement plans.
- To provide event management services as and when required to do so.
- To monitor the effectiveness of campaigns
- To establish close working relationships with external partners to maximise opportunities for community engagement activities.
- To provide support for other sections of the department in the case of unforeseen demand or emergencies.
- Promote and comply with North Wales Police policies on equal opportunities and health and safety both in the delivery of services and the treatment of others.
Education, Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- A nationally recognised qualification in digital/social media, communications or journalism or have an equivalent amount of relevant proven work experience.
- Ability to travel to various locations within the organisation.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills demonstrated by the ability to communicate confidently at all levels and evidence of the ability to influence and persuade others.
- A good knowledge of web communications, social networking and the use of content management software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels.
- Candidates must be able to demonstrate a level of awareness of equality and diversity issues appropriate to this role.
Proven relevant, practical experience in:
- Assisting with the development and implementation of targeted community engagement campaigns; recognising a good story and being able to act on own initiative to keep the on line publications fresh and up to date being able to make, edit and post short video clips and pictures to digital and social networking sites working with diverse audiences, especially hard to reach groups; sourcing and producing marketing and promotional materials.
- Experience of commissioning design and print.
- Experience in producing material to tight deadlines.
- Experience of copywriting for a variety of audiences and topics.
