Just so you know, building positive and constructive relationships with the individuals you support is a vital component of being a valued support worker.

What will the job entail? You will work as part of a team, providing practical and personal care and assistance to individuals with disabilities, challenging behaviours and/or complex health needs, other duties will include motivating and helping them to take part in a wide range of special interests and activities that support their health and wellbeing such as gardening, art and crafts, music and theatre.

As a support worker you would need to demonstrate an ability to be creative and open minded as you assist people towards achieving their goals, whilst also helping the team to provide a safe, caring and learning experience for people with disabilities so that they have the best quality of life possible.

Resilience is a must in our care sector. We all have our good and bad days and the ability to remain calm and supportive is a must have quality that you will need to demonstrate to work with us

Skills and qualifications required:

NVQ/QCF Health & Social Care level 2

Qualifications relating to Active support, Positive Behaviour Support

Social Care Wales registered in Adult Workforce

All Wales Manual Handling Passport

All Wales Basic Safeguarding Awareness

Team work & interpersonal skills The assignment is to be part of a bank of workers who have the ability and availability to respond to emergency last minute cover.

There is an expectation that candidate lives locally in order to respond and be on required shift within 30 minutes..
