Adkins & Cheurfi are excited to be recruiting for a Head Chef for a relaxed all-day dining venue in Corbridge. 

 

Our Client is seeking a skilled Head Chef to lead their kitchen team in their newly opened cafe & restaurant, just outside Newcastle. Having opened in July, they serve dishes from an exciting all-day dining menu. The ideal candidate would be an experienced Chef looking for a better work/life balance or a keen, up and coming Sous Chef ready to take over their first kitchen. As the Restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesday, the team work 5 shifts from Wednesday to Sunday.

The company prides itself on their people having a good work/life balance, meaning employees are only expected to work their contracted hours and receive lieu time for any extra.

 

• Duties*

- Oversee all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation

- Manage kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and supervision

- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness

- Collaborate with restaurant management to plan and execute special events or themed nights

 


• Skills*

- Strong leadership abilities to effectively supervise kitchen staff

- Extensive experience in restaurant kitchens, demonstrating culinary expertise

- Proficiency in food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment operation

- Excellent understanding of hospitality principles to deliver top-notch customer service

- Knowledge of food safety standards and practices to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment

- Culinary qualifications or relevant certifications would be advantageous
