Due to continued growth, a market-leading special purpose machinery manufacturer are looking to hire a Mechanical Design Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.


The primary function of this role to manage the Engineering Team as they continue to grow in new and existing markets.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Lead and inspire a talented team of 5 Design Engineers through bespoke projects of varying complexity.

  • Responsible for the successful design, development, and delivery of robust products in line with project requirements

  • Applying design for quality methodologies and tools to ensure a robust, repeatable and reliable designs whilst optimising consumer value.

  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure products are built to specification

To be considered for this position, candidates need to have proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer using a top-end 3D CAD package (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, Solid Edge, etc) and some level of leadership/management experience.


It would be advantageous to have experience in any of the following areas: designing for harsh environments (shock, vibration, thermal), special purpose machinery, lifting equipment, hydraulic machinery, conveyors / material handling machinery and / or robotics.


A mechanical focussed engineering degree is required along with proven experience with engineering calculations / stress analysis.
