Senior Ecologist - Corby

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Ecologist to join an environmental company based in Corby. In this role, the successful candidate will play a key part in delivering complex ecological assessments and managing a diverse project portfolio. You will have the chance to lead impactful projects and contribute to the company's continued success and expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage ecological surveys, assessments, and reports to ensure compliance with environmental legislation.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior ecologists, supporting their professional development.
  • Manage projects, including budget oversight, client communication, and ensuring the timely delivery of work.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including planners, architects, and developers, to integrate ecological considerations into design and development projects.
  • Foster and maintain client relationships, identifying opportunities to grow the business.
  • Keep up to date with environmental legislation, best practices, and industry trends.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • A Member the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) is advantageous,
  • Significant experience in ecological consultancy, including habitat and species surveys, and environmental impact assessments.
  • Strong understanding of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex ecological information clearly.
  • A full UK driving license
