About the vacancy
The Transport Manager (Nights) plays a critical role in the organisation's transportation department by overseeing and supporting the transport operations team during night shifts. This individual is responsible for ensuring a consistent, sustainable service, and operating budget while considering the evolving needs of the business and its customers. The Transport Manager (Nights) collaborates closely with the day management team to maintain a seamless 24/7 operation, from planning to execution.
Requirements:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience management experience in transport operations or a closely related field.
Previous experience of running a 3pl operation in FMCG.
CPC is mandatory for this role.
Responsibilities:
Monitors and supports the day-to-day workflow of the transport planning and operational team.
Drives process management adherence and compliance.
Defines best practice and process for the department.
Manages to achieve all performance indicators according to set targets in budget.
Is responsible to secure efficient, cost effective and deliverable transport plan with the team.
Monitors execution of transport plan reviewing daily to drive team efficiency.
React and plans to customer needs and demands as required.
Looks to continuously improve processes and people skillset in line with company values and objectives.
Work closely alongside both Transport and Warehouse management ensuring all areas of the operation are aligned to the customers.
Manages, coaches, and develops the team and his direct reports to improve individual and organisational performance and excel within their line of responsibilities.
Has CPC responsibility for the BU.
Shift Pattern: Sunday to Thursday 45 hours p/w (21:00 – 06:00).
Salary: Up to £45,000.00.
