Health and Safety Manager - Essex

Rate: ~350 per day (Outside IR35)

4 Month Duration

Are you an experienced health and safety contractor with a background in civils and piling experience based in Essex?

There is a great opportunity to join a leading specialist contractor on a major infrastructure project in Essex, overseeing health and safety across two piling rigs. Heavy civils and piling experience are essential, with this phase expected to run for four months, with potential for extension.

Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Manager will include:

  • Working closely with the client ensuring successful delivery of key parts of the project
  • Assisting, advising, and coaching contractors to ensure they can achieve the efficient and effective delivery of the health and safety strategy
  • Conducting gap analysis to identify root cause and making recommendations to prevent reoccurrence
  • Auditing and reporting on health and safety performance
  • Carry out noise, vibration and air quality monitoring
  • Constantly assessing opportunities for health and safety improvements and sharing best practice across the site

The successful Health and Safety Manager will have:

  • Proven experience in a similar role ideally within civil engineering or a related industry
  • Piling experience, and experience with noise, vibration and air quality monitoring desirable
  • Hold a NEBOSH Certificate, a CSCS card or other level 6 health and safety qualification,
  • Experience operating at site influencing and engaging key stakeholders
