Assistant Maintenance Manager

We require an Assistant Maintenance Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is passionate about keeping operations running smoothly. It is crucial to ensure the equipment, machinery, and facilities are always in top condition helping to keep downtime to an absolute minimum and maintaining a safe, efficient workplace for all.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is proactive and looking to make a tangible impact on a growing business. Working closely with the Maintenance Manager, the Assistant Maintenance Manager will take on a key leadership position in guiding the engineering team and ensuring the overall success of the maintenance operations.

Key responsibilities;

Developing and implementing an effective Site Preventive Maintenance Programme, minimising downtime and maximising efficiency.

Work alongside the Maintenance Manager to guide the engineering team to perform preventive maintenance at a high level and consistently meet company standards.

Reducing the need for outside contractors and utilising in-house expertise, keeping operational costs under control while maintaining high performance.

Collaborate with production teams to ensure minimal disruption and maximum productivity.

Experience required:

Hands-on experience in maintenance management in a production environment, with a strong understanding of machinery, equipment, and systems

Ability to managing a team, driving performance, and promoting a culture of positivity and excellence

Proactive mindset to maintenance and a keen eye for detail, ensuring issues are addressed before they become problems

A solid understanding of Health & Safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant working environment

Salary: Up to £40k per annum + overtime available

Shift: *4-on - 4-off / 3-on - 4 off, monthly alternating shift pattern

Location: Based in Essex, commutable from Kent, Essex, Suffolk

*This position will be site based and does require flexibility to meet the demands of the business and work on a shift system, ensuring continuous maintenance cover across weekend operational hours.
