We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong and a genuine love for working with children. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young learners. Your leadership skills will be essential in guiding and supporting both children and fellow staff members.

Duties

  • Provide high-quality care and education to children aged 0-5 years, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Develop and implement engaging educational activities that promote learning through play, fostering children's development across various domains.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to build strong relationships and ensure the needs of each child are met.
  • Manage daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and outdoor play, ensuring a structured yet flexible environment.
  • Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records to inform planning and support individual learning needs.
  • Collaborate with the team to create a positive atmosphere that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance the nursery’s practices in line with current early years frameworks and regulations.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications in Early Childhood Education or Childcare are essential.
  • A Level 3 qualification in childcare or early years education.
  • Paediatric First Aid (PFA) certification.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check to ensure suitability to work with children.
  • Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting (often gained during training).
  • Experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a small team effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • A genuine passion for childcare and early childhood education is crucial.
  • Ability to drive may be advantageous for transporting resources or attending training sessions off-site.
