About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Security Assurance Coordinator (SAC) to support the NSoIT(D) Programme. This role focuses on JADE Black and Red development environments, the OpNET Security Operations Centre (SOC), and NSoIT(D) Cyber and Information Security Risk Management. Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), you will be responsible for ensuring security governance, risk, and compliance across these environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • JADE:

    • Oversee all aspects of physical, procedural, and personnel security for JADE operations.

    • Identify security risks and develop mitigation strategies.

    • Produce Security Management Plans and Risk Assessments.

    • Ensure Secure by Design (SbD) compliance.

    • Provide security accreditation advice for MOD systems, End User Devices, and secure disposal of classified materials.

    • Deliver security awareness training and briefings.

    • Manage vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and remediation activities.

    • Monitor and report on emerging security threats.

  • SOC:

    • Assure Live Service Security (LSS) delivery.

    • Provide security governance, risk, and compliance direction for Network Operations and Service Management.

    • Act as lead for Paxcroft building security.

  • Risk Management:

    • Lead Cyber and Information Security Risk Management for NSoIT(D).

    • Implement and manage cyber security risks in STREAM and ARM.

    • Conduct and manage NIST 800-based Risk Assessments.

    • Oversee cyber and information security architecture within STREAM.

    • Deliver routine cyber and information security risk reporting.

  • Act as secretary to the programme Security Working Group.

  • Provide strategic advice and support across Information and Cyber Security domains.

  • Manage relationships with Defence Digital Information Security and Assurance teams.

  • Deliver security artefacts within tight timescales.

Essential Skills, Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Security Assurance Coordinator role.

  • Expertise in defence security policies and standards (JSP 440, 453, HMG policies).

  • Proven ability to produce RMADS, Security Instructions, and risk documentation.

  • Knowledge of Security Incident Management processes.

  • Experience conducting Risk Assessments and IT Health Checks.

  • In-depth understanding of Software Defined Data Centre (SDDC) models and virtualisation technologies.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of UK Defence deployed network architectures and security enforcement technologies.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical issues for non-technical audiences.

  • SC Clearance (existing) and willingness to undergo DV clearance.

Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Experience delivering security accreditation in Agile and Waterfall environments.

  • Public sector experience, preferably Defence Digital.

  • Knowledge of Cloud and Data Centre Security Architectures.

  • Security certifications such as:

    • CISSP, CISA, CCP SIRA (Practitioner+), ISO27001 Auditor.

  • Knowledge of audit tooling (e.g., ELASTIC, SolarWinds).
