An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join our B2B services client following a period of growth, making them industry leaders. This isn't a role where you'll be able to hide behind a desk all day… you'll be networking with the Finance Business Partners and senior leadership, ensuring operations are running smoothly. The ideal candidate will have superb communication and be able to deliver insightful analysis to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
The successful Financial Accountant will be ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified, ideally within a B2B business. Salary is between £50,000 - £60,000, depending on experience, and you'll be based out of the Coventry offices 3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Financial Controller with the consolidation of UK entity financials each month, ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting deadlines.
- Prepare and issue monthly profit and loss reports for contracts, working closely with Finance Business Partners.
- Deliver insightful cost analysis to support month-end processes and contract performance reviews.
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving any variances.
- Collaborate with Finance Business Partners and operational colleagues to address data quality issues and drive improvements.
- Continuously seek opportunities to enhance financial controls, processes, and reporting accuracy.
- Provide leadership and support to direct reports through coaching, reviewing work, and fostering personal development.
- Ensure compliance with group accounting policies and standards.
About You:
- Newly qualified or a finalist ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
- Proficient user of Excel with experience working to structured monthly deadlines.
- Previous experience in financial or management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations.
- Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements.
- Experience in managing and developing a team (desirable but not essential).
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to step back and sense-check work.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to working with finance systems.
