An opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller to join a successful manufacturing business. The perfect role for someone who is looking to take ownership of a finance function with a real hands-on approach. Leading a small team, you will be overseeing the running of the department, ensuring production of accurate and timely financial information. More than this, you will work closely with the Lead Team in driving the business forward, reviewing performance against objectives and recommending changes where necessary.
The duties of the Financial Controller include:
- Overview of sales & purchase ledger, cash posting, payroll, general ledger and the production of monthly management accounts
- Reporting to the MD and global HQ regarding financial budgets & forecasts and monthly/ year end financial reports
- Liaising with senior management team to provide financial & operational insights, setting and monitoring budgets
- Cashflow, treasury/investment monitoring and reporting
- Sales forecasting - margin analysis and cost
- Working with the manufacturing team with a focus on cost reduction and implementation of new processes
- Statutory reporting, including VAT, PAYE and Corporation Tax
- Coaching and mentoring members of the finance team to foster a collaborative environment
Ideally, you will have a background as a Financial Controller within a manufacturing or engineering business, along with:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
- Experience of leading a financial team
- A strong background of working with key stakeholders to ensure commercial success of the business
- Experience within medium to large enterprises (ideally turnovers of £20M +)
- Previous process improvement and strong IT skills
