Your new companyWe have an exciting opportunity for a temporary Coroners Investigator to join Coventry City Council for a duration of 6 months. Your new roleWe are recruiting for a Coroners Investigator on a full-time temporary basis for 6 months. You will be responsible for managing your own case load and supporting the Coroner with cases. You will liaise with the families and next of kins of the deceased and support and navigate them through the case. You will establish which route the case will go down and if an inquest may be required. You will order postmortems, liaise with Funeral Directors and book in court hearings when requested.You will be required to attend hearings to support the Lead Coroner and provide paperwork when needed. This is a full-time position and working hours are 9am - 5pm, however, if you are taking part in a hearing that runs over, you will be required to stay, however, you will be able to take the time back.What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in securing this role, you will be able to demonstrate emotional intelligence, have strong attention to detail as you will be processing legal files, able to work as part of a team and on your own, as well as having excellent time management to be able to manage your own workload.Previous experience within a similar setting would be beneficial, but not required. If you are a legal graduate with an interest in forensics and/or criminology, this role would be a great opportunity for you!What you'll get in returnThis role is for 6 months and offers an hourly rate of £16.92 per hour, and you will be paid on a weekly basis.
