Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Implementation:

  • Collaborate with electrical designers to transform conceptual designs into practical, executable solutions.
  • Analyze 3D models of industrial facilities to optimize cable routing and reduce costs.
  • Develop detailed cable and termination schedules from wiring schematics to streamline project execution.
  • Create and manage progress trackers to monitor and report on project status.
  • Oversee the commissioning of electrical installations, ensuring smooth transitions to full production before client handover.
  • Resolve potential issues by applying knowledge across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation disciplines.
  • Prepare quotations for additional project work as required.

Solution Development:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop integrated electrical solutions that meet client needs and comply with industry standards.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, incorporating new technologies into equipment designs.
  • Collaborate with our sustainability lead to ensure green and sustainable practices are prioritized in project designs.
  • Contribute insights on industry trends to inform future technology adoption and divisional direction.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Maintain strong collaboration with designers, installation teams, and clients to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, communicating progress and milestones.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including electrical engineers, technicians, contractors, and subcontractors.

Health, Safety, and Quality:

  • Promote a safety-first culture across all project sites, adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Ensure quality assurance processes are implemented across all projects to deliver high-quality electrical solutions.

Value Engineering and Reporting:

  • Assist in value engineering projects, identifying cost-saving opportunities and managing budgets.
  • Support procurement timelines to align with project milestones and optimize cash flow.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with projects.
  • Assist with evaluating change requests and their impact on project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Document all project activities, including progress reports, milestone adherence, and daily/weekly updates.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A solid knowledge base acquired through a varied career in electrical engineering.
  • Extensive experience in project execution and commissioning within the electrical engineering field.
  • Background in operational and maintenance engineering with proven plant improvement experience.
  • Ability to understand machinery operations and identify process bottlenecks without direct observation.
  • Strong analytical skills, proficient in working with 3D models and design schematics.
  • Hands-on experience commissioning electrical installations and managing transitions to full production.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with designers, maintenance teams, and stakeholders.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Project.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills under pressure.
  • Experience across multiple engineering disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation.
  • Experience in material handling, heavy industrial machinery, or related sectors is a plus.

Location and Travel:

  • This hybrid role requires nationwide travel, including site visits across the UK - the majority of the work will be from home.
  • Visits to our main office in Coventry, manufacturing facility in Stoke, and other locations as needed.
  • A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided.
