About the roleReporting to the Company Secretary, this role will provide comprehensive support across various company secretarial and corporate governance matters, ensuring the effective operation of processes and upholding the highest standards of corporate governance.The position involves advising on a wide range of governance and secretariat issues, with a primary focus on supporting the Society’s Board Committees, particularly the Board Audit Committee and the Board Risk Committee. There will be extensive interaction with personnel at various levels of seniority, including members of the Board, Executives, and senior leaders.The responsibility for this role is to provide legal and corporate governance support by ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and managing governance processes. Assist with the preparation, coordination, and documentation of board and committee meetings, including agenda preparation, paper circulation, live minuting, producing high-quality minutes, and following up on actions.Additionally, the role will oversee the maintenance of statutory records, filings, and compliance with the Building Societies Act, Companies Act, and other legal obligations. Draft, review, and update corporate policies and governance documents to ensure regulatory compliance, while assisting with the corporate governance aspects of the Society’s Annual Report & Accounts and AGM, including reviewing and approving AGM communications.About youThis role requires a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
