We're delighted to be supporting a well-established Solicitors practice in Coventry with their recruitment of a Legal Cashier.

The successful applicant will be working closely with fee earners to process financial transactions and ensure the smooth running of the accounting function within the business.

  • Salary 28,000
  • Working hours Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm with 1hr lunch break (35 hours per week)
  • Office-based

  • 23 days' annual leave plus bank holidays

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Overseeing daily banking transactions and reconciliation
  • Processing client bills and completing inter account transfers
  • Managing petty cash
  • Completing month end routines and producing month end reports
  • Carrying out CHAP/BACS & inter-account transfers via online banking
  • Purchase Ledger posting and control
  • Completing archive/matter close routines
  • Data entry and filing

Skills and experience required:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a legal practice
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Good understanding of Solicitors Financial Rules
  • IT proficient in Microsoft Office, ideally with experience of legal accounting software
  • Sound understanding of anti-money laundering and cybercrime awareness practices
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively on own initiative, with confidentiality and discretion
  • Enjoys contributing to a collaborative team environment and assisting with administrative duties when required
