Requirements:

  • Do you have a D1 minibus driving licence?
  • Do you have a MIDAS certificate or accreditation?
  • Do you have an enhanced DBS check/certificate?

Hours:

This role is 20 hours a week working 4 hours each day which includes a split shift of 2 hours in the morning and afternoon. These roles are term-time only. If you cannot adhere to these shifts please do not apply.

What is the job role:

The job involves providing transportation for some of our clients most vulnerable people across Coventry. This can involve manual handling of large wheelchairs and loading them on and off the minibuses.

You will be potentially dealing with a range of challenging behaviours daily. Continuity is a vital part of the service our client provides, and they endeavour to keep the same driver and passenger assistant on the vehicle. In summary, the role involves the following

Tasks:

  • Undertake all driving duties in allocated vehicles as instructed by the client
  • Transport service users safely, securely, and with care to their designated destinations
  • Take all reasonable steps to prevent service users from causing harm to themselves and/or others.
  • Complete all paperwork as requested
  • Be punctual, adaptable and reliable.

  • Respect all clients and always treat them with sensitivity and dignity
  • Be flexible in working contracted hours over a standard working day and over a 5-day working week on a rota
  • You need to be very patient, always calm, resilient and understanding of the needs of SEN children and vulnerable adults
