Description

As the Health, Safety & Environmental Manager you will be part of the senior management team ensuring everyone on site is aware of the part they play in the overall HSE agenda. You will have the opportunity to develop your own team & appoint champions across the business to advance the HSE culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and implement HSE policies and procedures across the site.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and best practice applicable to the company.
  • Develop, communicate and drive the company Health, Safety and Environmental strategy across the business.
  • Ensure compliance with all local and national HSE regulations.
  • Liaise with external bodies on Health, Safety and Environmental issues and represent the company.
  • Initiate, coordinate and oversee the implementation of any new Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives.
  • Continuously assess training requirements across the company and ensure all personnel are adequately and effectively trained in all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental matters.
  • Manage accident reporting, investigation and resolution.
  • Manage, host and support all external Health, Safety and Environmental audit systems and processes (ISO45001 & ISO14001).
  • Identify, manage and carry out internal Health, Safety and Environmental audits across all company sites, teams and business areas.
  • Identify and lead on the facilitation of any corrective action needed.
  • Coordinate risk assessments and implement preventative measures.
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover root causes.

Profile

A Health, Safety & Environmental Manager ideally with manufacturing or logistics experience and the following:

  • NEBOSH/IOSH Managing Safety
  • Fully conversant with ISO 45001 & 14001 standards
  • Passionate about drive HSE improvements & embedding best practice
  • The ability & desire to develop a team
  • The ability to positively challenge behaviours
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels

Job Offer

  • Circa £50,000 - £60,000 per annum.
