Our client is currently searching for interim cover for their teams Payroll Manager position. To be successful within this position, The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring processing of payroll accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The Payroll Manager will help handle and delegate various administrative tasks related to payroll and manage the overall smooth operation of the payroll function within the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that pay runs and BACS payments are completed accurately and on time. Managing delivery in line with payroll schedule.
  • Ensuring execution of timely and accurate processing of employee payroll, including calculation of hours, overtime, and deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements relating to payroll.
  • Address and resolve any payroll discrepancies or issues promptly.
  • Maintain organised and up-to-date payroll records for all employees.
  • Generate and distribute payroll reports to relevant departments as needed.
  • Maintaining knowledge of current and new legislation impacting payroll and ensuring this knowledge is shared with team and wider business where appropriate.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all statutory and contractual obligations and deadlines, along with compliance with controls framework.
  • Support the Annual External Audit.
  • Manage the administration of colleague benefits: PMI, P11D, ExpenseIn, Company car/mileage, pension schemes.
  • Act as principal point of contact for the Pension Schemes, ensuring compliance with requirements of the schemes and the Pension Regulator; and communicating with HR department and/or Senior Management as necessary.
  • Managing the preparation and submission of pension contributions ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Managing all payroll enquiries from employees to satisfactory timely resolution, ensuring effective communication.
  • Assist with ad-hoc Payroll projects as required.
  • Manage Payroll Team in line with company performance management policies.

Experience Required:

  • Extensive payroll management experience, managing multiple payrolls in an outsourced environment.
  • CIPP qualified (desirable).
  • Experience of managing and developing a team.
  • A proven track record of developing strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.
  • A team player who is able to coach and develop others through an illustration of excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong IT skills, especially Excel
  • Experience of iTrent beneficial
