  • Competitive Salary: On offer is a competitive salary of £50,000 per annum plus overtime
  • Holiday: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Hours: Working 5 x 8 hour shifts per week (Week 1 - 6am-2pm) (Week 2 - 2pm to 10pm) (Week 3 - 10pm to 6am) with occasional weekends paid as overtime may be required.

About the role:

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining our advanced facility. Your primary objective will be to ensure the seamless operation of our plant machinery, contributing to our mission of efficient waste management. You will be responsible for preventative maintenance, quick troubleshooting, and minimising downtime, allowing us to serve our community better than ever before.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Conduct Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) in accordance with OEM specifications and meticulously record data in our CMMS. 
  • Monitor, engage, and support operational staff to ensure safety and efficiency across shifts. 
  • Adhere to and uphold health and safety compliance, ensuring a safe working environment for all. 
  • Provide immediate support to operators as needed and oversee timely plant repairs. 
  • Collaborate with the cleaning team to monitor and maintain performance standards. 
  • Step into the role of team leader during their absence, fostering a collaborative environment. As well as mentoring junior team members to promote training, compliance, and a culture of continuous improvement. 

About you:

We are looking for a dynamic Maintenance Engineer who embodies a spirit of collaboration and innovation. You will bring proven experience in on-site maintenance, specifically with heavy equipment such as conveyors, motors, and hydraulics, complemented by a minimum level 3 apprenticeship in engineering or a related field. Your strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively under tight schedules in a planned maintenance environment are essential. A commitment to health and safety practises is crucial, and experience with PLC-based systems and within the waste management industry will set you apart.
