Reed Further Education are seeking a Games Design Lecturer to join a college on an ongoing basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching across various levels, from Level 1 and 2 to Level 3 and HNC. This role requires a deep understanding of the Autodesk suite, including Maya or 3D Max and experience in character modelling and Unreal Engine would be highly advantageous.

Job Title: Games Design Lecturer

Position: Mon to Thurs, 0.8 FTC

Role type: Temporary Ongoing

Location: Coventry

Salary: £32p/h to £38p/h including holiday pay

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver engaging and informative lectures across different levels of games design courses.
  • Utilise Autodesk software tools, specifically Maya or 3D Max, to teach students the fundamentals and advanced techniques in games design.
  • Incorporate character modelling and Unreal Engine into the curriculum where applicable.
  • Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to aid in their development.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Maintain academic records and prepare students for examinations or project submissions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a games design lecturer or a similar role in education.
  • Strong proficiency in Autodesk suite, Maya or 3D Max.
  • Desirable experience in character modelling and Unreal Engine.
  • A teaching qualification is desirable.
  • Ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
