Head of Projects
Coventry (Hybrid, minimum 3 days on-site)

We are seeking a dynamic Head of Projects to oversee the delivery of new products/drive internal continuous improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for someone with an engineering/manufacturing/electronics background, commercial awareness, and strong project management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading product and project delivery across the company
- Managing the full programme of works within the Research and Development team
- Delivering overseas projects on behalf of our parent company, ensuring timely, complete, and budget-compliant delivery with regular reporting
- Managing internal and external stakeholders, including Product Management, Sales, Finance, Technical teams, and End Customers
- Authoring, reviewing, and maintaining project documents such as Gantt charts, risk registers, and gate reviews
- Providing guidance on best practices and upskilling teams, including standardising PMP
Requirements:
- Proven track record in driving successful project and programme completion
- Experience in motivating and mentoring technical teams under tight deadlines and high-pressure environments
- Strong communication skills, with a focus on clear, open, and honest methods
- Background in delivering projects over £1m through the full development lifecycle
- Engineering background with at least 5 years of senior project role experience
- Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Project and the Microsoft suite
- Project Management certification (e.g., PRINCE 2 Practitioner) is a plus
- Experience across various engineering disciplines, including injection moulding, electronics design, software/firmware development, and product build/test
- Familiarity with high volume production and/or safety-critical product management
- Experience with Jira, SharePoint, or Agile development is advantageous
- Relevant degree preferred
