Legal Compliance Manager (Law Firm)

Location: Coventry and Warwickshire

Salary Range: £40,000 to £50,000 per annum, commensurate with experience

We are proud to partner with a long-established, Legal 500-listed, Lexcel and CQS accredited law firm who are seeking a skilled compliance professional to support their COLP, MLCO and management team across two offices. 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a firm with a strong reputation for excellence, where you can make a significant impact on their compliance and risk management functions. 

The role will involve:

  • Supporting the Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP), the Money Laundering Compliance Officer (MLCO), and the management team in managing risk and ensuring regulatory compliance with the firm’s policies, plans, and procedures
  • Attending and making a valuable contribution to compliance meetings 
  • Conducting file reviews, analysing data on risk management, including complaints, claims, client feedback, conflicts, breaches etc
  • Regularly reviewing, updating, and amending the office manual, compliance policies, and procedures, ensuring adherence to Lexcel requirements
  • Supporting the annual Lexcel re-accreditation process
  • Assisting with the renewal of professional indemnity insurance
  • Assisting with anti-money laundering compliance
  • Working closely with the Complaints Officer to resolve client complaints 
  • Supporting the maintenance of SRA recognition/authorisation and renewal of solicitors' practising certificates.
  • Leading compliance training sessions, ensuring solicitors meet SRA competence requirements

Suitable candidates will have:

  • Experience of working in a compliance role within an SRA-regulated law firm
  • Strong organisational, drafting, communication, collaboration, and influencing skills
  • A sound understanding of SRA Standards and Regulations, and Money Laundering Regulations
  • An understanding of Lexcel regulations (preferred)
  • High levels of integrity and discretion

This is a full-time, permanent position working from 9am to 5.15pm, Monday to Friday, across two offices, with hybrid working options available.
