The organisationIn this Floating Housing Support Officer opportunity in Coventry, you will join an organisation who help 16-25year olds seek temporary accommodation and offer early intervention support to help them transition into permanent accommodation.
Key responsibilitiesIn this Floating Housing Support Officer job, your responsibilities will include:
- Being an active member of the community - going out daily rain or sunshine to engage young people with the service and provide help where necessary
- Assess and detail experiences of the young person to Identify their support needs to hep them maintain a tenancy and Improve health and well-being outcomes
- Safeguard young people and vulnerable adults at risk, through appropriate escalation and reporting to statutory services e.g. Inter-agency referral and follow up work.
- Deal with external barriers they may face such as employment, education, substance misuse, learning difficulties etc
- Actively encourage vulnerable young people to move into appropriate accommodation through weekly support sessions on a 1:1 basis
- Prove track record of working In homelessness or youth work
- GCSE or equivalent In Maths and English Is required as well
- NVQ L3 In Advice and Guidance, Health and Social Care or other relevant subject
- Able to work outside when required covering the whole of Coventry
- Flexible to work evenings / weekends If required - will get time off In lieu
- DBS on the update service - Enhanced Child and Ault Cleared or Issued In the last 12 months
