Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Practitioner with a genuine passion for making a positive impact in children's lives?

We are seeking 2 x dedicated professionals to provide 1:1 support for young learners with ADHD in the reception class of a mainstream primary school located in the Coventry (CV6) area.

Both roles will be full-time and until Christmas in the first instance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized, focused support for a student with ADHD, helping them to develop both academically and emotionally in a safe and supportive setting.
  • Adapt to various classroom situations, ensuring continuity of support for the children you work with.

  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that promotes children's well-being and development.

  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to staff and parents to support ongoing development.

  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to meet the educational and emotional needs of the child.

Requirements:

  • Level 2+ Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.

  • Recent experience working with children in special educational settings is desirable.

  • Previous experience in an educational setting with children is essential.

  • Strong understanding of ADHD and effective strategies to support children with this condition.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a patient and empathetic approach.

  • In-depth knowledge of special educational needs and the ability to adapt to various teaching environments.

  • Proactive approach to supporting students and promoting their engagement in learning.

  • Experience or training in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is advantageous.

  • A passion for providing high-quality support to students and contributing positively to their educational journey.
