SEN Teaching Assistant | Coventry, CV1 | 85 - 100 per day | ASAP Start

LTF Recruitment is looking for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) within a mainstream primary school. This role involves providing both one-on-one support and working with small groups of pupils.

The SRP is connected to the Early Years department and is specifically designed to deliver targeted, specialist support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. This position is long-term, with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

What are we looking for?

  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or a similar relevant qualification.
  • Relevant experience working with SEN students in a school environment.
  • Qualifications such as TeamTeach or training in Positive Behaviour Management are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, with expertise in non-verbal methods like Makaton and PECS being highly desirable.
  • A good understanding of the EYFS curriculum.
  • Proven ability to provide support to SEN pupils in one-on-one, small group, and whole-class settings.
  • A strong team player, able to work effectively with colleagues and follow the class teacher's instructions.
  • Experienced in managing, updating, and reviewing the progress of EHCPs.
