Behaviour Mentor | COV CV2 | £95 - £105 per day | Long-term to Permanent | Immediate Start

A specialised college is seeking an experienced Behaviour Mentor to join their dedicated team. This role involves working with students aged 16-25, providing essential support to help them overcome challenges related to their emotional and behavioural needs. You will be supporting students with complex difficulties and learning challenges, including Autism, physical disabilities, and multiple learning difficulties. This role is crucial in fostering an inclusive environment that empowers our students to thrive both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to enhance students' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Assist with daily activities, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all learners.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and other support staff to implement individualised education plans (IEPs).
  • Help manage challenging behaviours by employing positive reinforcement techniques.
  • Encourage student independence and self-advocacy through skill-building activities.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience working with individuals with special educational needs, preferably in an educational setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people and a commitment to their personal development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students, staff, and families.
  • A proactive approach to overcoming challenges and adapting to students' diverse needs.
  • Current safeguarding training is highly desirable.

To Be Eligible for This Role You Must:

  • Hold the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an enhanced child and adult barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two references covering the last two years.
