Sports and Behaviour Mentor

Coventry (CV1) | Key Stage Two | SEN | 90-105 a day | Start ASAP

Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated Sports and Behaviour Mentor to work 1:1 with a Year 4 pupil with an EHCP, focusing on reintegration into school and physical activity-based interventions. This role is based at a primary school in Coventry (CV1) and is ideal for someone with experience in trauma-informed approaches, ADHD support, and behaviour mentoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 1:1 support for a Year 4 child with attachment and trauma needs, helping with school reintegration.
  • Implementing sports-based interventions to support emotional regulation and engagement.
  • Using Emotion Coaching strategies (e.g., ELSA or equivalent) to help develop social and emotional skills.
  • Adapting learning to suit individual needs across the primary age range.
  • Encouraging participation in PE and structured physical activities during breaks and lunchtimes.
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to promote positive behaviour and learning.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEND, ADHD, attachment, and trauma-related needs.
  • A background in sports coaching, behaviour mentoring, or primary education support.
  • Knowledge of Emotion Coaching, Zones of Regulation, or similar approaches.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and encourage positive engagement through sport.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting learning and behaviour.
