We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Steel Fixer who has an NVQ in Steel fixing, as well as extensive construction experience working in a similar role tying reinforced steel.
As the Steel Fixer you will be working as part of a team who will be responsible for positioning and securing steel bars or steel mesh to reinforce concrete structures.
Working as the Steel Fixer your role will involve reading and interpreting working plans then adapting and assembling the steel bars/mesh by wiring or clipping into predetermined locations within the concrete.

DUTIES
Your duties as a Steel Fixer will include:
- Set out the work area using site plans
- Cut and bend bars or mesh
- Tying rebar together with wire, clips, or welds to build up sections
- Fitting spacers and supports
- Fixing the wooden formwork and shuttering used to hold setting concrete in place
- Fixing steel to concrete bases
- Installing beams and pre-cast slabs
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Essential
- NVQ in Steel Fixing
- Valid Blue CSCS Card
- Ability to understand technical drawings
- Extensive experience within a similar role
- Must have experience of tying reinforced steel
