Job Title: Universal Grinder
Shift: Days, Monday - Friday
Rate: £18 - 20 p/h, negotiable depending on experience.
We are seeking a skilled universal Grinder to join the team in Atherstone. As a Setter/Operator you will be responsible for operating and maintaining grinding machines to grind precision components in a variety of materials and sizes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate grinding machines to grind to tight tolerances
- Select appropriate grinding wheels and fixtures based on job requirements
- Inspect components for defects and ensure they meet quality standards
- Use hand tools to adjust machine settings and make necessary adjustments during the grinding process
- Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and make adjustments as needed
- Perform routine maintenance on grinding machines to keep them in good working condition
- Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate protective equipment
Requirements
- Experience in operating surface and universal grinding machines
- Knowledge of tooling and ability to select appropriate grinding wheels and fixtures
- Ability to read component drawings to a good standard
- Basic maths skills for measuring
- Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
