We are seeking a dedicated Hygiene Operative to join our Production team. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout our production facility, ensuring compliance with food safety and quality regulations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the thorough cleaning and sanitization of production areas, machinery, and equipment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of all production areas, including equipment, machinery, floors, walls, and surfaces.
  • Ensure all work areas are kept clean, tidy, and free from contamination in line with food safety regulations.
  • Clean and sanitize tools and equipment used in the production process, ensuring compliance with hygiene standards.
  • Follow cleaning schedules as outlined by the Operations Manager, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to the highest standard.
  • Use approved cleaning chemicals and materials safely and efficiently, following instructions and safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular checks on the cleanliness of facilities and equipment, immediately reporting any potential contamination risks.
  • Safely dispose of waste materials according to company procedures, including the segregation of recyclable materials.
  • Clean and disinfect food production machinery and equipment after use, ensuring no residues remain that could affect product quality or safety.
  • Work closely with the Production team to ensure that cleaning activities do not interrupt production schedules.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and correct handling of cleaning chemicals.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a food manufacturing or industrial cleaning environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards such as HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) is preferred.
  • Experience with cleaning equipment and chemicals used in an industrial or food production setting.
  • Ability to follow detailed cleaning schedules and instructions.
  • Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety practices in a food production environment.
