Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday
Expected Hours: 38 hours per week

Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Manual Turner to operate conventional turning machines (lathe) and a conventional borer (Webster and Bennett) to produce high-precision parts according to customer specifications. The successful candidate will be responsible for machining components based on route cards and technical drawings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate conventional turning machines (lathe) and a conventional borer (Webster and Bennett).
  • Produce high-precision parts to meet customer specifications.
  • Follow the component route card and technical drawings for machining tasks.
  • Inspect your work for quality, using hand measuring tools such as Verniers and micrometers before continuing with additional machining.
  • Assist with the final fitting of components.
  • Correctly position components into the machine, using lifting equipment if necessary.
  • Identify and execute the machining operations required to meet the specified sizes.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Educated to Engineering Apprentice level or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years' post-apprenticeship experience in a similar manual turning environment.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and communicate technical drawings effectively.
  • Manual Handling Training and overhead crane experience.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven experience within the metal cutting or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong team-working skills.
