Job Title: Manual Miller

Salary: Up to £18.00 per hour

Shift: Monday to Friday
Expected Hours: 38 hours per week
We are looking for an experienced Manual Miller to machine components to a high standard, ensuring all parts meet customer specifications and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Machine components according to the route card and technical drawings.
- Assist in the fitting of components as needed.
- Identify the operations required from the provided drawings.
- Operate and set manual milling machines to customer specifications and company standards.
- Determine the appropriate speeds and feeds for each component.
- Produce high-precision parts using conventional milling machines, adhering to exact standards.
- Correctly position components into the machine, utilizing lifting equipment where necessary.
- Ensure quality by measuring first-offs using hand tools like Verniers and micrometers before proceeding with further machining.
- Identify and select the tools needed for each task and escalate any issues to the Production Supervisor.
- Follow company procedures, practices, and policies.
- Ensure all tasks meet the requirements of ISO 9001 and OEL Quality Systems and Procedures.
- Comply with OEL’s Health & Safety Systems and Procedures.
- Previous experience in a similar manual milling role is essential.
- Ability to read, interpret, and communicate technical engineering drawings.
- Manual Handling and Overhead Crane training/experience are required.
- Relevant apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Engineering/Machining is desirable.
- Strong team-working and communication skills.
- A flexible and proactive approach to work.
- Proven planning and organizational skills to meet departmental and business objectives.
- Ability to maintain the integrity of the company’s operations while meeting deadlines.
- Competitive pay of up to £18.00 per hour.
