Our client based in Cramlington, a world-renowned engineering company specialising in the repair and manufacture of parts, is looking for an Assembly and Test Fitter on an ad-hoc/ contract basis.

The Opportunity:

As an Assembly and Test Fitter you will be working alongside other Fitters to perform overhaul, repair, rebuild and testing functions on equipment and parts.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintenance of components
  • Stripping down parts, cleaning, inspection and rebuilding
  • Testing rebuilt products in line with company procedures, ensuring specifications are met
  • Use of specialist equipment to carry out work
  • Creating detailed reports at each stage of work carried out, from initial inspection through to final inspection

Skills and Qualifications:

  • An Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or related field is essential for this role
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and technical drawings/ instructions
  • Be able to work both independently and as a team to complete work
