My client is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys working with numbers, and has a strong understanding of financial processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing purchase and sales ledgers, credit control, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
Day-to-day of the role:- Maintain and update purchase ledger records, ensuring accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Manage the sales ledger, including issuing invoices and following up on outstanding payments.
- Take responsibility for credit control, actively pursuing overdue accounts to ensure timely payment.
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
- Assist with the monthly payroll process, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Provide support during month-end and year-end close processes.
- Liaise with other departments to resolve any financial discrepancies.
- Assist with financial reporting and analysis as required.
- Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or similar role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
